#MakeItAwkward is Proud to Announce Our Charitable Partner, Kidz First Canada
#MakeItAwkward is thrilled to announce its affiliation with Kidz First Canada — our official charitable partner.
Kidz First Canada — a Vancouver-based organization chaired by Edmonton native Mark Mahl — is committed to assisting and empowering vulnerable youth.
Specifically, through after-school programs, Kidz First enables youth to overcome barriers in their lives and to empower their future by providing them with the tools for social awareness, inclusion and expression; through the arts, healthy-living activities and community-enrichment projects.
Like #MakeItAwkward, Kidz First believes that not every kid starts out on the same level playing field. The two organizations are committed to removing barriers that hold some kids back; to fostering confidence and leadership skills in our youth; and to addressing systemic discrimination that puts some youth at a disadvantage.
A portion of any proceeds from #MakeItAwkward events will go to Kidz First Canada, and the two organizations are looking forward to myriad ways to collaborate in the future.
