Bean Gill is a first generation Indo-Canadian woman born and raised in Millwoods who has faced more than her fair share of adversity. She has over 10 years experience as an X-ray technologist specializing in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. She is also a certified makeup artist who has worked on numerous photoshoots and fashion shows. Her life was changed forever when she was paralyzed from the waist down by an auto-immune disorder called Transverse Myelitis in July 2012. After 5 years of hard work and determination she is able to walk with a walker and has regained a lot of her strength and mobility. Through her recovery she has found her purpose in life, to help other people retrain their nerous systems and reach their goals. Bean teamed up with her trainer Nancy Morrow and together they opened a non profit organization called ReYu Paralysis Recovery Centre.
ReYu is the first facility of its kind in Edmonton that exists to inspire, motivate and promote recovery with increased function for individuals with spinal cord injuries and associated disorders. This is done through a comprehensive activity based training program, exercise knowledge and education.
